longitudinal steaks that change

hello. My daughter age 13 caucasion, has had these streaks on her right thumb and index finger for over two years. Once I became aware of them we saw two dermatologists. Their advice was to observe and watch for ANY change. So we photographed them 3 to 5 months apart. The change is slow, but change no doubt. So we go back to the Dermatologist. Our dr was on maternity leave so we see a different one. He tells us that change is normal and it could go away. Contradicting the others advice. What should we do? The bands on her thumb are widening an increasing lighter stripe between them. This whole story of missing it and let it advance to serious situation scares me! We both want to know. My daughter understands the damage that could be caused by biopsy, but she's very willing just to rule cancer out. Help us.
